Microsoft showed its forthcoming product that revolutionizes the way humans interact with software and hardware. I recently saw videos of 3D interfaces like the BumpTop 3D Desktop Prototype and the demo done by Jeff Han. Now Microsoft shows their version of it.
Check out this super cool Microsoft website: www.microsoft.com/surface and/or watch this awesome video from On10.net. I remember that Bill Gates showed this technology earlier at the CES (January 2006). That time, this technology was called TouchLight. It seems that its now rebranded to Microsoft Surface.
Surface works only with special equipment. The screen is made of holographic glass which displays images from the projector underneath. Two cameras aimed at the glass triangulate objects on it. And the good news for software developers: the software is written in Windows Presentation Foundation. This defenitly shows the great potential of WPF.

Microsoft's partners release products based on this technology by the end of the year. Now we have to wait until this technology becomes cheaper. The projector, glass, cameras, pc and software are expensive, at least $ 5000.
